Who We Are 

Since founding in November 2023, Qimam has logged:

· 29 field activities and mountain expeditions

· 18+ public events and institutional collaborations  

· 700+ participant engagements across northern Morocco

Our core programs:

TAMKEEN QARYATI — RURAL EMPOWERMENT

Our flagship project, selected as a winner of the 5th Tamuri Programme 

(MCISE / European Union, 2024). We provide digital visibility training, 

hospitality standards coaching, and cooperative formation support to 

off-grid rural guesthouses in the Rif and Tetouan mountain regions. 

Current grant: 50,000 MAD (~$5,000 USD).

GREEN PEAKS — TRAIL CONSERVATION

Physical trail marking, summit sign installation, and Google Maps 

documentation of mountain routes and rural guesthouses in the Tangier 

and Tetouan regions.

SAFETY & TRAINING

Certified cave rescue training (Taza, Jan 2026) with UK Midlands Cave 

Rescue Organisation. First Aid Awareness program with Moroccan Red 

Crescent (Oct 2024).

HUMANITARIAN FIELD INTELLIGENCE

Mountain trekking used as reconnaissance to identify remote families 

invisible to government programs. We serve as a field partner for 

larger aid organizations distributing food and school supplies to 

undocumented communities.

Our Mission 

To leverage mountain sports as a driver for social entrepreneurship, 

rural tourism development, and community empowerment in northern Morocco 

— making hidden mountain communities visible, connected, and 

economically sustainable.

We believe a hiker searching Google should be able to find a guesthouse 

in El Kouf, Tnin el Kharroub and other villages We are building that infrastructure, one activity at a time.

Programs & Impact 

Qimam Mountain Sports Association is a legally registered non-profit 

organization based in Tangier, Morocco. Founded on 25 November 2023 

under Morocco's association law (Dahir of 15 November 1958), we operate 

on a 100% volunteer basis with a 9-member elected Board of Directors 

and zero paid staff.

Our work sits at the intersection of mountain sports, rural development, 

and community empowerment in northern Morocco.
